CREATING A HOME PRACTICE with JANET

Learn to practice yoga regularly at home even when you think you have no time to spare: 10 minutes, 25 minutes, 45 minutes. Each of these options is a powerful and effective way to transform body, mind, spirit and lifestyle!

RESTORATIVE YOGA for MENOPAUSE with YUKA

In the workshop, we will explore the series of Restorative yoga poses, which help stimulate the body to produce a balance of hormones to calm the nervous system and reduce fatigue. With the support of bolsters, blocks and blankets, students rest in poses for 5 to 20 minutes allowing the body and mind to open gently and gradually. This series is designed for you to relax and rest deeply. No experience is required.

ARC BARREL is a classical Pilates 'small apparatus' that both challenges and facilitates the Pilates Mat exercises. Emphasizing spinal mobility, core stability, and full-body control, movements learnt on the arc are easily transferrable to the Bosu. Integrate the arc barrel repertoire in regular Pilates classes for deep abdominal support and a young and healthy spine.

FOAM ROLLER combines fitness and rehabilitation to create a dynamic movement series that invites gentle release and decompression, along with deep core strength induced by the instability of the roller.

Wednesday July 27th, 2011 1:00pm – 3:30pm

BALLS: SMALL & LARGE incorporates large and small balls to enhance body awareness, coordination, core strength, and flexibility. Students will learn to combine upper body and arm strength, lower body and leg strength, and the interplay between core stability and mobility for added strength, power and fun!

THERABAND is a wonderful tool for enhancing muscular activation and for helping you find your core connection and real full body strength. The workshop will teach you how to connect to your full body strength for functional fitness.

RESISTANCE CIRCLE is a useful Pilates tool designed to enhance performance and strength. Placed between your thighs, hands, arms, or ankles, inside and out, over and under, this little seemingly innocent circle will become your best friend! You will be introduced to a simple, but powerful series of movements that enhance your Pilates repertoire and fitness level to boot!
