Danielle Bélec-van Zeyl

Danielle Bélec-van Zeyl is the Director and owner of Second Wind® Pilates Plus®, and founder of Integrated Movement Therapies (IMT)®. She is a Certified Pilates Instructor through the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) and a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst® (CMA) through the Laban Institute of Movement Studies (LIMS) in New York. Danielle is also a Registered Movement Therapist® through I.S.M.E.T.A., a Certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy (PRYT) Practitioner, and practitioner of Reiki and myofascial release.

 

Danielle brings fifteen years experience as a professional dancer and choreography to her practice having danced with three of Canada's foremost contemporary companies. She began her Pilates training in 1985 at The Alan Herdman Studio in London, England while performing and training as a contemporary dancer in Europe with the assistance of the Ontario Arts Council. She later received funding from the Canada Arts Council to study Pilates at the Jean Claude West Studio in NYC (now in California). Post performance career, Danielle certified in Pilates at the Stott Studio and later at Body Harmonics in Toronto.

 

Danielle holds a Master of Arts in Movement Education. She is one of the few PMA certified instructors in Ontario. Danielle began Second Wind® Pilates Plus® and Second Wind's Teacher Training certification school in 1999.
